Detached Retina

Christa decided she was going to leave me for a few weeks. The first weekend (last weekend in September) Christa was going to Palm Springs for a CAPA convention. Then she was going to go see her Mom the week after that.

I think God decided to slow her down a bit because she had a partial retinal detachment called a Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment and had to have a Pneumatic Retinopexy operation that sameday. It was pretty urgent because if the condition is not caught soon vision loss can be permanent.

Anyway I was present and had to help hold, along with Christa's hand the swabs and freezing tube, while all this was going on. All I could say was WOW! It was a really cool procedure to see done. . . Just not on my wife.
